Vesikulär stomatit (VS)
Etiologi
Vesikulär stomatit-virus tillhör genus Vesiculovirus inom familjen Rhabdoviridae. Det delas upp i fyra typer: New Jersey, Alagoas, Cocal och Indiana. New Jersey är vanligast förekommande. Viruset korsreagerar i serologiska tester med andra vesikulovirus. Vesikulär stomatitvirus kan överleva långa perioder i kyla, men avdödas med formalin eller upphettning.
