Den kliniska bilden vid swine vesicular disease är ofta kliniskt mycket lik bilden vid andra vesikulära sjukdomar hos svin:
- mul- och klövsjuka
- vesikulärt exantem
- vesikulär stomatit
Svin som uppvisar blåsbildningar i mun, på tryne, fötter eller spenar skall alltid i första hand förutsättas ha mul- och klövsjuka tills dess annat har visats. .
Laboratoriediagnostik är nödvändig för att skilja SVD från mul- och klövsjuka!
